One dead, 10 injured in ambulance-winger collision in Kapilvastu

According to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday. The deceased has been identified as 95-year-old Indrakala Rana of Bhumikasthan Municipality, Arghakhanchi. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

KAPILVASTU, July 7: One elderly woman died and ten others were injured in a collision between an ambulance and a winger van in the forested area of Gorusinge, Buddhabhumi Municipality–2, along the East-West Highway.



According to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday. The deceased has been identified as 95-year-old Indrakala Rana of Bhumikasthan Municipality, Arghakhanchi. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

The collision involved an ambulance (Lu 2 Cha 9237) traveling from Arghakhanchi to Butwal with a patient on board, and a winger van (Lu 1 Ja 4280) heading from Butwal toward Chandrapur.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahendra Mani Adhikari said the injured are currently receiving treatment at United Hospital and a community hospital. He added that further investigation into the incident is underway.
