One arrested with INR 500,000, goods worth over Rs 1 million seized

KAPILVASTU, May 24: Police arrested an individual with INR 500,000 of unverified source near the transmitter area of ​​Krishnanagar Municipality-3 in Kapilvastu.



They apprehended 43-year-old Ramkumar Tolangi of Champa Devi Rural Municipality-10, Raniban, Okhaldhunga. During the search, officers discovered ten bundles of INR 500 notes inside his bag, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Mani Adhikari.

Inspector Ishwar Laudari of the Krishnanagar Area Police Office said they sent Toolangi to the Revenue Investigation Office in Butwal, Rupandehi for necessary further action.


Similarly, police seized various goods worth over Rs 1 million that smugglers had illegally brought in from India.


Inspector Ishwar Laudari said officers recovered 150 kilograms of sugar from Bhilmi Chowk in Krishnanagar Municipality-6, and intercepted three sacks of dried red chilies, 38 broiler chickens, and 19 packets of Parle-G biscuits from Kushahwa Badani in Maharajgunj Municipality-9 while suspects were transporting them on two motorcycles. Authorities handed over the seized items to customs.
