KATHMANDU, Sep 9: President Ram Chandra Paudel has approved Prime Minister KP Sharma's resignation but stated that the cabinet led by KP Sharma Oli will continue to run the government until a new Council of Ministers is formed.
The President’s Office, accepting Oli’s resignation, specified that the same cabinet will carry out its functions until the formation of a new one under Article 77 (3) of the Constitution,.

“It has been specified, in accordance with Article 77 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal, that until another Council of Ministers is constituted, the same Council shall carry out the functions of government,” reads a statement issued by Under Secretary Rupesh Jung Thapa of the President’s Office.
Oli tendered his resignation from the post earlier today.
