NRNA Philippines welcomes new leadership, celebrates community unity in Manila

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Philippines held its general assembly and induction program on Sunday at the Pearl Hotel Manila, marking a significant celebration of leadership, unity, and the enduring connection among Nepalis living in the Philippines.

MANILA, July 29: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Philippines held its general assembly and induction program on Sunday at the Pearl Hotel Manila, marking a significant celebration of leadership, unity, and the enduring connection among Nepalis living in the Philippines.



Dr. Sangit Kasaju, Vice President of NRNA, delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings and reaffirming the association’s commitment to uplifting the Nepali diaspora. He also recalled NRNA’s medical mission during Nepal’s 2015 earthquake as a milestone in its humanitarian efforts.


NRNA President Prakash Shrestha delivered a keynote address highlighting the association’s achievements and laying out a vision for its future growth and collaboration.

A key highlight of the event was the formal induction of newly elected officers. The oath of office was administered by Sudarshan Kumar Khadka, Senior Advisor and Founding President of NRNA Philippines. The officers pledged to uphold the values and mission of the organization.

Chief Guest Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos, Honorary Consul General of Nepal to the Philippines, offered congratulatory remarks, commending the unity and active involvement of the Nepali community in the country.


The event also featured a self-introduction session, encouraging participants to share their backgrounds and build stronger community ties. An open forum followed, where members discussed organizational goals and shared suggestions for future initiatives.


In his closing remarks, Sudarshan Khadka reiterated NRNA’s mission to serve and connect the Nepali community abroad. A group photo captured the spirit of the occasion before the second part of the program commenced with a traditional lunch provided by Kathmandu Thakali Kitchen Manila.


Cultural performances by Nepali students from Emilio Aguinaldo College showcased the vibrant heritage of Nepal, rounding off the day on a festive note.


Nepalis residing in the Philippines are active across sectors such as healthcare, education, business, IT, and non-governmental organizations. The NRNA serves as a platform for networking and empowerment, helping the community thrive and maintain its cultural roots while promoting cross-cultural friendship.
