No constitutional bar on ex-presidents, vice presidents joining politics: Deuba

On constitutional amendments, Deuba stressed that a two-thirds majority and broad consensus are necessary.

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 6: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that there is no constitutional restriction preventing former presidents and vice presidents from entering politics.



Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, the former prime minister said that continuity of the current coalition government will remain intact.

On constitutional amendments, Deuba stressed that a two-thirds majority and broad consensus are necessary. He also noted that the upcoming NC general convention will be held in due course.


Deuba clarified that no immediate reshuffle of ministers is planned.
