KATHMANDU, May 29: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there is no alternative to the federal democratic republican system, where citizens can choose their own leaders through election.
Addressing a special ceremony at Tundikhel on the occasion of Republic Day 2082 BS, PM Oli emphasised that no other system can ensure the dignity and self-respect of every citizen as effectively as a republic. He stated that the republican system has brought remarkable achievements in education, health, entrepreneurship, employment, and infrastructure, and stressed the need for unity to further strengthen and consolidate the republic.
Federal Democratic Front announced
PM Oli said, “Good governance, transparency, and accountability are the backbone of the republican system, and we are committed to strengthening them. We are working to fulfil the national aspiration of a prosperous Nepal, happy Nepalis.”
He further stated that the current system allows the people to elect representatives—from ward members to the president—in an inclusive manner. At least 36,057 representatives from various castes and communities are elected under this system.
