MAKWANPUR, Sept 21: The Hetauda Industrial Estate in Makwanpur is witnessing an increase in industrial activity, with two new industries preparing to begin operations soon.
According to Ramesh Raj Nepal, Information Officer at the Industrial Area Management Office, Himalaya ACP Boards Pvt. Ltd. (producing aluminum boards) and Tika Industries Pvt. Ltd. (chocolate production) will start production in the coming days. The two industries have taken over the locations of long-closed units and agreements have been finalized to operate at the same sites. “Once the agreements were completed, the operators immediately began preparations. These industries are expected to start within a week or two,” he said.
Earlier in January, Lucky Poly Industries began producing plastic products and Total Packaging Pvt. Ltd. started plastic bag production. From January, Threestar Group began producing colored and plain cardboard, while Baba Manufacture Pvt. Ltd. started producing small tin boxes.

Currently, 13 industries are under construction in the industrial area, many of which are in their final stages. Additionally, the long-closed Supreme Metal Industry has resumed iron cutting production, according to Nepal.
Coordination is also underway to restart five other closed industries. Operators have confirmed that Dynasty Distillery, Green Gold International Pvt. Ltd., South Asian Polypipe Pvt. Ltd., and Baniya Multi Product Pvt. Ltd. are preparing to resume operations.
Established on December 6, 1963, with support from the U.S. government, the Hetauda Industrial Area now hosts 146 industries and businesses leasing land. Spanning 3,228 ropani, major operating industries include food production, United Brewery (beverages), Gorkha Brewery Company, Asian Paints, animal feed production, and carton manufacturing.
Government establishments within the industrial area such as the Hetauda Dairy Distribution Project, Province Food and Quality Control Office, Province Seed Company, Soil Testing Office, local police office, and Nepal Bank Ltd., Hetauda Branch continue to operate.
Of the total area, 2,178 ropani is leased, 26.52 ropani remains vacant, and 597 ropani is occupied by utility infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and drainage systems.
