KATHMANDU, April 20: Nepal’s exports have increased by 65 percent in the first nine months of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25.
While Rs 113 billion was collected from exports during the same period (mid-July to mid-April) last FY, it has reached Rs 188 billion in the first nine months of current FY.

Imports have also increased by Rs 150 billion in these nine months. By mid-April, the total import value had reached Rs 1309 billion, compared to Rs 1167 billion during the same period last fiscal year.
According to data from the Department Of Customs, Nepal's total foreign trade has increased by 16.89 percent. Last year, the total trade stood at Rs 1281 billion, which has now reached Rs 1497 billion.
Among Nepal’s major imports, petroleum-based products top the list. During the review period, imports of these products amounted to Rs 74.28 billion. The data shows that Nepal exported tea and coffee-related products worth Rs 10.74 billion, wood products worth Rs 7.16 billion, iron and steel worth Rs 10 billion, and carpets worth Rs 9.3 billion.
