Nepali content creators earn over Rs 3.5 billion from YouTube, TikTok and Facebook videos

The number of content creators has been increasing recently, with many earning tens of thousands of rupees by creating videos for social media. NRB has started keeping records of such income.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Nepalis earned over Rs 3.53 billion by creating and posting videos on social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Facebook during the Fiscal Year 2024/25, according to Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).



The number of content creators has been increasing recently, with many earning tens of thousands of rupees by creating videos for social media. NRB has started keeping records of such income.

Meanwhile, Rs 789 million was sent abroad for audio and video services provided to foreign clients. The central bank stated that this amount was paid by Nepalis for foreign audio and video services.
