Nepali talent Pravesh Rijal named among top 100 AI leaders in US

KATHMANDU, July 26: Pravesh Rijal, a native of Biratnagar, Nepal and currently serving as the Chief Data and AI Officer at Cross River Bank in the US, has been named to the prestigious AI100 list—an annual recognition of the 100 most influential artificial intelligence leaders in the US.



Rijal has become a leading figure at the intersection of artificial intelligence, financial services, and quantitative innovation. At Cross River—a technology-driven financial institution that supports some of the world’s most prominent fintech companies—he oversees the bank’s enterprise-wide data and AI strategy.

Rijal began his professional journey at Citigroup, where he quickly rose through the ranks in the field of quantitative modeling. He later founded and led Cross River’s Quantitative Strategies unit before taking on his current executive role. He holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from New York University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Quantitative Finance at EDHEC Business School in France.


The AI100 Awards recognize individuals who are driving significant business transformation through the application of AI and data science. Honorees are selected based on their impact, innovation, and ability to scale AI-driven solutions across complex industries.
