"The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) asked to land the chopper and put it on hold after seeing the Nepal Army helicopter entering Chinese territory, now efforts are being made to return it safely by requesting the Chinese government," a top source in the security agencies said.
According to sources, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa are trying to facilitate it. However, the Nepal Army has said that it has landed on the other side due to technical reasons. It said it would return after the technical problem was resolved.
"The helicopter that reached Rasuwa during the rescue operation landed in the neighbouring land due to a technical problem and will return after the technical problem is resolved," said Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet, spokesperson of the Nepal Army.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song along with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also reached Rasuwa on Tuesday afternoon to inspect the flood-hit Nepali territory.
