NEPALGUNJ, April 23: Nepal Police confiscated 24 kg of silver, 423 grams of gold and valuable stones from a jewellery shop in Nepalgunj sub metropolitan city.



Police seized illegal valuables from Sonu Rai Jewellery Shop at Treveni mod, ward -3.

Acting on a tip off, police raided the shop which was found dealing without bills. "We also found that the shop was unregistered," Tek Bahadur Tamang, superintendent and chief of District Police Office, Banke said.  


Apart from seizing the valuables, police have shut down the shop while Sonu Rai has been remanded on call for further investigation, according to Tamang. 


The Nepal Rastra Bank has made it mandatory for all jewellery shops across the country to carry out transactions under banking system. Shop owners are also required to maintain transactions and bills of such valuables.
