In a joint statement, they said, “It is necessary to acknowledge the fact that the situation became more volatile and uncontrolled because the prime minister delayed accepting repeated demands and pressures from us to reopen social media and resign. Despite our repeated appeals, ignoring the situation reflects a failure of political leadership to properly assess the circumstances or timely adopt corrective measures. The loss of human lives caused by this delay has left all Nepalis, both in the country and abroad, shocked and deeply saddened.”

The NC leaders also urged that conclusions be drawn in line with the sentiments of the Gen Z generation. However, they emphasized that any decision must follow the constitutional and legal process.

“Lawlessness only leads to further chaos. Therefore, during the talks, we urge the President and the Gen Z representatives to ensure that a new political structure is formed for governance and elections without causing prolonged constitutional vacuum or instability. Measures must be constitutional and democratic to end this crisis, and we will support such a path,” the statement added.
