NC general secretaries say seven-point agreement with UML has lost its relevance

Stating that the government has not been functioning properly, they appealed to the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to pave the way for building a “new national consensus.”

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nepali Congress General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have said that the seven-point agreement reached with the CPN-UML has lost its relevance and urged the party to withdraw from the government. 



Stating that the government has not been functioning properly, they appealed to the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to pave the way for building a “new national consensus.”

In a joint statement, the General Secretaries said that the responsibility to correct the government lies with the Prime Minister himself. The statement further emphasized that the government should be corrected and moved forward, parliamentary decisions should be implemented immediately and the Prime Minister should promptly take the initiative to build a new national consensus.


The statement also mentioned that the ongoing youth-led movement should be addressed peacefully and political parties should seek consensus for parliamentary stability through open dialogue.
