KATHMANDU, June 26 : Dr Mukul Dhakal has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court claiming that he is still the General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). The hearing on his petition was listed on Thursday at the bench of Justice Kumar Regmi.
Dhakal had submitted the writ on Wednesday (June 25), and it has been placed sixth on Justice Regmi’s cause list for the day.
RSP seeks explanation from General Secretary Dhakal

The RSP had previously taken disciplinary action against Dhakal for publicly sharing a nationwide report the party had prepared. Following the action, Dhakal had sought justice from the Election Commission. In response, the Commission issued a letter stating it had not received any official notification regarding his removal from the party's central committee.
Based on that, Dhakal submitted a request to RSP to call a meeting in his capacity as General Secretary. However, the party maintained that it had already informed the Election Commission about Dhakal’s removal last year, and signaled it no longer recognizes him as General Secretary.
This led Dhakal to approach the Supreme Court seeking legal recognition of his position.
