Motorcyclist killed in Nagarjun road mishap

A man died in a road accident near Ratna Rajya School in Ramkot, Nagarjun Municipality-7, Kathmandu, on Friday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, July 12: A man died in a road accident near Ratna Rajya School in Ramkot, Nagarjun Municipality-7, Kathmandu, on Friday afternoon.



The accident occurred at around 3:20 PM when a vehicle (Ba. Pra. 01-026 Cha 2605), driven by 48-year-old Hiralal Sunar of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan, struck another motorcycle (Ba 65 Pa 6162) driven by 35-year-old Krishna Thapa of Ramkot.

Thapa sustained serious injuries to his head and right arm. He was initially taken to Manmohan Hospital in Swayambhu and later transferred to B&B Hospital in Lalitpur at around 5:00 PM for further treatment. He was pronounced dead by doctors at 8:30 PM the same day.


Police have taken both the vehicle and its driver, Hiralal Sunar, into custody. A team of five officers, led by Sub-Inspector Niraj Paudel, reached the accident site at 3:35 PM and launched an investigation, which is currently ongoing.
