A few regions may see moderate rain as monsoon weakens

Moderate rain is expected in a few places in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces, other hilly regions, and in one or two locations in the plains.

KATHMANDU, August 16: The monsoon is weakening in Nepal as the low-pressure trough stays south of its usual position.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) predicts generally cloudy skies this afternoon over Sudurpashchim Province and other hilly areas. At the same time, the rest of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rain is expected in a few places in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces, other hilly regions, and in one or two locations in the plains.


Tonight, cloudy skies will continue over Koshi and Sudurpashchim Provinces and the hilly regions, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. Moderate rain may occur in some areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim, other hilly regions, and in one or two places in the plains, the DHM added.
