KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The low-pressure line of the monsoon is currently positioned near its average location, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), signaling another wet spell for the country.

This afternoon, a generally cloudy blanket is expected to hover over much of Nepal. Moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions and a few scattered places elsewhere. The MFD has also forecast chances of heavy downpours at one or two locations in the hilly belts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
By nightfall, the skies are likely to remain mostly cloudy in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces and in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rain is expected at various spots across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, including hilly regions, with a few other places also likely to see showers. The MFD has cautioned about the risk of heavy rainfall at one or two places in both the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
