KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
This afternoon, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in other hilly areas and a few places across the remaining Terai regions. The MFD has warned of heavy rain at one or two spots in the hilly and Terai belts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini.

By nightfall, conditions will stay mostly cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces and across the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly fair skies.
Moderate rain is possible at a few locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki, and at isolated places elsewhere, the MFD added.
