Metro Cup football from March 6

KATHMANDU, March 20: Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee is set to organize the First Kathmandu Metro Cup Football Tournament in the capital from March 6 to 13.  The tournament to feature teams of 10 municipalities of Kathmandu will be held at Sano Gaucharan ground.

KATHMANDU, March 20: Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee is set to organize the First Kathmandu Metro Cup Football Tournament in the capital from March 6 to 13. 

The tournament to feature teams of 10 municipalities of Kathmandu will be held at Sano Gaucharan ground.  



One team each from Manohara, Shankarapur, Gokarneshwar, Tarakeswar, Budhanilkantha, Tokha, Chandragiri, Nagarjun, Kirtipur and Dakshinkali municipalities will battle for first prize of Rs 111, 111 in the knockout tournament.

Similarly, the runner-up and third-place finisher will bag Rs 51,000 and 25,000 respectively. 

Best player of the tournament will be rewarded with Rs 10,000 while the other best players in goalkeeping, defense, midfield and forward will be given Rs 5000 each. 


Only the players residing within the territory of respective municipality will be eligible to play in the tournament, according to tournament coordinator Badri Bhattarai.
