A source from the President’s office said the postponement was due to incomplete internal preparations. Following a consensus reached on Thursday night between the Gen Z movement and major political parties to appoint former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the head of the interim government, Nepal now faces a strong possibility of having a female prime minister for the first time.

However, the late-night meeting at Sheetal Niwas on Thursday ended without a conclusion, as no agreement was reached on whether to dissolve parliament. While the Gen Z side considers dissolution of parliament is essential, major political parties and President Paudel remain committed to finding a political solution through the current parliament.
