A performance contract was signed between Minister Gurung and Secretary Radhika Aryal amidst a programme in the Ministry on Tuesday.
Nepal’s climate targets woefully failing implementation test

Other officials in the Ministry and subordinate departments and divisions also signed the contracts with their respective chiefs. The contract is signed for the fiscal year 2082/83.
On the occasion, Minister Gurung vowed amendments to the old laws and enactment of new ones, construction of new infrastructures and production of a skilled workforce. NTV World would be brought into operation, and various national documents, except bank notes printed at the Security Printing Centre, within this year, according to him.
The Minister, however, admitted that enforcement of the performance contract last fiscal year was slow off the mark. Gurung directed the employees not to repeat old habits of underperformance. Capital spending must be increased, he stressed.
Secretary Radhika Aryal said that although the performance in the last fiscal year witnessed 19 percent progress, capital spending was not satisfactory. The Ministry is ready to resolve any sort of problems, she pledged.
Joint Secretary Koshhari Niraula said the performance contract would make employees further responsible, so its implementation is imperative.
