Margadarshan Cooperative chair arrested over Rs 59 million embezzlement allegation

KC had been out of contact for nearly 15 months and was apprehended from Gaththaghar, Bhaktapur. The 34-year-old had been absconding since April 2024.

KATHMANDU, July 31:  Police have arrested Ashok KC, the chairman of the Siddharthanagar-based Margadarshan Multipurpose Cooperative, on charges of misappropriating millions in depositor funds.



KC had been out of contact for nearly 15 months and was apprehended from Gaththaghar, Bhaktapur. The 34-year-old had been absconding since April 2024.

Following an arrest warrant issued by the Rupandehi District Court, KC was accused of embezzling Rs 59.08 million from depositors.


KC is a resident of Melung Rural Municipality in Dolakha.
