Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will lead the general convention Organizing Committee. Sapkota said that institutional views would be made from the party's official forum in the changing political context.
The party also summoned its standing committee meeting on September 24 and CC meeting on September 25 to discuss the proposal of the party office bearers' meeting.
The decision of the Maoist Center comes in the wake of the Gen-Z protests as the protest has mounted pressure on the established political forces too. "Preliminary discussions were held on the ideals, and procedures and process of leadership handover," Sapkota shared.
At the meeting, Maoist Center Chairman Dahal briefed the leaders on the changed political context and proposed to move ahead in a new fashion. The meeting also appealed to the country's patriotic, democratic and progressive forces to unite in the present political context.
