Man arrested with gold chain and five mobile phones from TIA

Police have arrested Deepak KC, 48, a resident of Radha Krishna Tole, Pokhara Metropolitan City-11 in Kaski district, for attempting to smuggle a 25-gram gold-like metal chain and five mobile phones through the airport's arrival tunnel for international flights.

KATHMANDU, May 20: A man has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for attempting to smuggle gold and five mobile phones.



Police have arrested Deepak KC, 48, a resident of Radha Krishna Tole, Pokhara Metropolitan City-11 in Kaski district, for attempting to smuggle a 25-gram gold-like metal chain and five mobile phones through the airport's arrival tunnel for international flights.

Deepak, who arrived in Kathmandu from Dubai on a Himalaya Airlines flight, was found in possession of the metal, one laptop, and five mobile phones during a security check. He was subsequently arrested.


According to the police, he has been sent to the TIA Customs Office in Gaushala for further investigation and necessary action.
