Addressing a program organized by the party on the occasion of Republic Day, the former prime minister cautioned that political leadership should come through winning the people’s votes in electoral competition. He maintained that the monarchy, which the people have rejected, can never return.

Chairman Nepal stated that the tradition of the king’s son becoming the next king has been completely ended. He emphasized that after a long struggle and sacrifice, the Nepali people have fully attained sovereign power, and the former king should no longer entertain dreams of restoring the monarchy.
