KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Twenty-six-year-old Luna Luitel has been crowned Miss Nepal 2025 at the 31st edition of the beauty pageant organised by The Hidden Treasure on Saturday. She triumphed over 25 contestants to take home the coveted Miss Nepal World title.
Luna was crowned by outgoing Miss Nepal World 2024 Ashma Kumari KC. A certified scuba diver, Luna moved to Australia at 17 to pursue nursing and is currently completing a master’s in Public Health at the University of Sydney. She was also the first runner-up in Miss Teen Nepal 2015 and believes in the philosophy of “Learn, Earn, and Return.”

The grand finale was held at the Sunrise Convention Center in Godavari, where Luna Luintel was ultimately declared the winner, marking a new chapter for Nepal on the international stage.
Dipshikha Nepal was named the first runner-up and awarded the title Miss Nepal Cosmo, while Urusha Bhandari earned Miss Nepal International and will represent Nepal at the Miss International pageant in Japan. Sony Ghale was crowned Miss Nepal Earth 2025.
The panel of judges featured notable figures from Nepal’s media, entertainment and fashion industries, including Ajaya Raj Shrestha, Shrinkhala Khatiwada (Miss Nepal World 2018), Shyam Kandel (Himalaya Television), actress Anna Sharma, Mahesh Swar (Kantipur Media Group), Ruchi Pandey (Aretha Public Relations), Sahil Shrestha (Cymex), Priya Sigdel (Miss Nepal Earth 2018), Samarpan Jung Karki (Mr Nepal 2023), Dr Sristi Shrestha Prajapati, and designer Manish Rai.
The pageant included a question-and-answer round for the top 12 contestants, while the final four—Urusha Bhandari, Luna Luintel, Sony Ghale, and Dipshikha Nepal—were asked to respond to a common question: “If you could change one perception about beauty pageants, what would it be and why?” Each finalist shared her perspective before the judges made their final decision. Several sub-titles were also announced during the event.
