BIRGUNJ, April 12: The District Administration Office (DAO) Parsa has issued a curfew order following a religious clash in Birgunj on Saturday.
A clash broke out between two communities at Chapkaiya Chowk during the Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday afternoon. Some shops were set on fire during the clash and local residents and police personnel were also injured.
The situation in Birgunj has become tense after the incident. The administration has deployed a large number of security agencies to bring the situation under control.

According to the order issued by Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, the curfew has been imposed from 6:30 pm on Saturday till 12 noon on Sunday by designating four areas in Birgunj Metropolitan City as restricted for movement.
Activities such as movement, gatherings, processions, demonstrations, and meetings have been completely prohibited within the prescribed areas during the curfew period.

East: Bhediyahi Chowk, Birgunj Metropolitan City-15
On the West: Sirsia Bridge, Birgunj Metropolitan City-25
North: Gandak Chowk, Birgunj Metropolitan City-14
