UDAYAPUR, May 6: A minor died after being struck by lightning in Katari Municipality in Udayapur.
According to Ward Chairperson Nabin Tamang, 13-year-old Chitra Bahadur Walampaki Magar of Phulbari, Katari-8, lost his life in the incident.
Lightning strike kills woman
Chitra had gone to graze goats on Monday afternoon but did not return home by evening. When his father, Man Bahadur, went to search for him later that evening, he found the boy lying unconscious. “The goats came back in the evening, but the boy didn’t,” said Ward Chair Tamang, “When his father went to look for him, he was found dead in the forest after being struck by lightning.”
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kamal Bajgain, chief of the local Area Police Office, stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
