KATHMANDU, May 31: Heavy rainfall on Friday night caused the Leuti River to flood and severely damage the Koshi Highway in Dhankuta. The flood washed away approximately 100 meters of the road at Fedigaun in Sanghurigadhi-6, according to the District Police Office.

The police confirmed that the overnight rain had caused the collapse of around 25-30 meters of the road. In Chaubise-4, the Chharuwa River flood damaged the Tamor Corridor road, halting transportation between Dhankuta, Panchthar, and Taplejung districts. Meanwhile, authorities cleared the road near Namaste Waterfall in Sanghurigadhi-6 after fallen trees and a landslide blocked it.
