JANAKPURDHAM, June 3: Bharat Prasad Sah, leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) Parliamentary Party in Madhesh Province, resigned from his position after meeting party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and handing over his resignation letter on Monday.
Ten months ago, six of the nine Maoist lawmakers in the province wrote to Dahal, demanding Sah's removal from the party leadership.

Despite receiving the signed letter, Sah refused to step down, as Madhesh Province in-charge Matrika Prasad Yadav backed him.
However, after party members filed complaints with Chairman Dahal accusing Sah of damaging the party's image, the party's office-bearers convened a meeting and decided to remove him from the post.
