Koshi Province Minister denies QR code bribe allegation, says he never had one

He said, “If anyone has used a QR code in my name to ask for money, action should be taken against them.” He also called on authorities to take action against those spreading what he described as false, baseless, and politically motivated accusations.

KOSHI, July 27: Sadananda Mandal, Minister for Tourism, Forest, and Environment of Koshi Province, has denied allegations that he asked for money through a QR code. Speaking at the Provincial Assembly meeting on Sunday, he said he has never received a QR code from any bank. Mandal claimed that the accusations are an attempt to tarnish his image and demanded an investigation against anyone using his name to collect money. 



He said, “If anyone has used a QR code in my name to ask for money, action should be taken against them.” He also called on authorities to take action against those spreading what he described as false, baseless, and politically motivated accusations.

“If there is any proof that I asked for money via QR, bring it forward. I am ready to face consequences,” Mandal stated.


Reports in the media had claimed that someone from his secretariat had sent a QR code to a service seeker asking for money. However, Mandal clarified that the person mentioned is not from his team and that he neither asked for nor accepted money from anyone.
