KATHMANDU, May 27: Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa summited Mt. Everest for the 31st time, extending his own world record.
Seven Summit Treks confirmed that Kami Rita reached the 8,848.86-meter summit at 4 a.m. on Tuesday via the northeastern route.

A native of Solukhumbu, Kami Rita serves as a senior guide for Seven Summit Treks. He began his mountaineering career in 1992 and was born on January 2, 1970.
