Kabeli river sweeps away two tippers, two excavators from Sinam Power House

According to Bibek Basnet, Information Officer and Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Taplejung, the two tippers and two excavators, whose registration numbers are not yet available, were washed away by the swollen river.

TAPLEJUNG, Sept 1: Heavy rainfall last night caused the Kabeli River to swell, sweeping away at least two tippers and two excavators from the Sinam Power House.



According to Bibek Basnet, Information Officer and Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Taplejung, the two tippers and two excavators, whose registration numbers are not yet available, were washed away by the swollen river.

Inspector Basnet said that a police team led by Police Constable Umesh Kumar Urawa from the temporary Khamdine police post was dispatched immediately after the information was received. They found two of the excavators submerged about 15 to 20 meters downstream the power house.


The tippers have not yet been located and the police are continuing the search operation.
