Journalist Rabindra Prajapati found dead in Rautahat residence

Rabindra Prajapati, a journalist based in Rautahat, was found dead in his room on Saturday night in what police have confirmed as a case of suicide.

RAUTAHAT, July 20: Rabindra Prajapati, a journalist based in Rautahat, was found dead in his room on Saturday night in what police have confirmed as a case of suicide.



The 28-year-old journalist, a resident of Ward 5 in Katahariya Municipality, reportedly took his own life by hanging himself from the window grill of his bedroom, said DSP Rajan Karki of the Garuda Area Police Office. Prajapati worked as a newsreader at Musical FM, a local radio station in Katahariya Bazaar.

Family members broke into his room after he failed to respond and rushed him to Grandi Hospital in Garuda. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival, DSP Karki added.


The body has been taken to the district hospital in Gaur for a post-mortem. Police said a domestic dispute may have triggered the incident.
