Khalanga, Aug 21: Eleven people were injured in a jeep accident in Darchula on Thursday morning.
According to police, the jeep (registration number SuPra 04001 Ja 0103) was traveling from Hopari to Hoparigad in Naugad Rural Municipality when it met with the accident.

Bajura District Police Office Spokesperson Inspector Chhatra Bahadur Rawat said four of the injured are in critical condition. The victims were rescued and taken to Gokuleshwar Hospital for treatment. Those in serious condition have been identified as Parvati Tamata, 25, Mohan Thagunna, 26, Apsara Mahata, 18, and Umesh Thagunna, 35.
Inspector Rawat stated that the jeep, carrying 11 people including the driver, skidded on a slippery road when its brakes failed, leading to the accident. He added that a detailed investigation is underway and the injured driver, Lokendra Singh Thagunna, is in police custody for further inquiry.
