Indian nationals held hostage with a promise to send them to US rescued

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Police have rescued at least seven Indian nationals who were held hostage by bringing them to Kathmandu under the pretext of sending them to the US.

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Police have rescued at least seven Indian nationals who were held hostage by bringing them to Kathmandu under the pretext of sending them to the US.



A special team of District Police Range, Kathmandu rescued them from Ratopul area, according to police.

Investigators involved in the case revealed that the victims were lured to Nepal with promises of sending them to the US after money was collected from them. "They were kept in a rented house. Some new facts have emerged during the investigation," a police source said.


Kathmandu Police Range is set to provide further details on the case during a press conference scheduled later today.
