BAITADI, Sept 4: Vigilance at the border areas of Nepal has been heightened following the detection of bird flu infections in several regions of Uttarakhand state, India.
Veterinary hospital and animal service centre Baitadi's chief, Gumani Pant, shared that measures have been taken to prevent the entry of bird flu in the border areas. Following the detection of infections in districts like Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand, stringent measures have been implemented in the border area.

Since it is a border district, we have adopted precautions to prevent entry, Pant said. In Dasharathchand Municipality and Pancheshwar Rural Municipality, which are adjacent to India, enhanced vigilance has been implemented.
After the federal government urged these two municipalities to increase vigilance, both municipalities issued public notices to maintain alertness.
