Human skeleton found at Bhat-Bhateni, Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 15: A human skeleton has been found in the debris of Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket in Biratnagar, which was damaged by arson and vandalism during the Gen Z protests.



The skeleton was found on Monday during the cleaning of the building, revealing that the fire incident also caused human casualties.

SP Narayan Prasad Chimoriya of Morang District Police Office, stated that the skeleton was found fully burnt on the second floor of the supermarket.


He added that the remains are so badly burnt that it is impossible to determine whether the deceased was male or female, and the identity has not yet been established.


During the protests, an enraged group of demonstrators vandalized, looted, and set fire to the Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket in Biratnagar. The fire completely destroyed the building housing the supermarket.


Police suspect that someone may have been trapped inside the building during the fire, leading to their death. Authorities are conducting further investigations and have begun inquiries regarding any missing persons.
