The Home Ministry stated that the investigation will cover issues such as who traveled apart from the official delegation, what processes were followed, and which agencies or organizations facilitated their visit. Particular attention will be paid to how visit visas were arranged for the non-delegation members.
To carry out the investigation, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police have been mobilized. The Ministry emphasized that legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible for misuse of process or involvement in irregularities.
Former Prime Minister Oli had departed for Spain on June 28 (Asar 14) for an official visit, and concerns have since arisen regarding the presence of unofficial individuals accompanying the delegation.
