KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The monsoon's low-pressure line currently lies to the north of its average position, hovering over Nepal's Terai region. Although monsoon conditions persist across the country, the influence of moisture-laden winds appears relatively weak, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Rainfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces

This afternoon, mostly cloudy skies are expected over the hilly regions and areas of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces. In contrast, the rest of the country is expected to see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate showers are likely in the hilly and lowland areas of Koshi and Lumbini, with scattered rainfall possible in a few other provinces as well. There is also a chance of heavy rain at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
Come nightfall, the skies will remain generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rainfall is likely in some parts of the hilly and Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, and Lumbini Provinces. At the same time, other provinces may also experience light to moderate rain in some areas. The MFD has also indicated a possibility of heavy downpours at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi Province.
