KATHMANDU, July 28: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, as the monsoon trough is positioned near its average location, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces
Skies are expected to remain generally cloudy in the afternoon. Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in a few places across Gandaki, Bagmati and Sudurpaschim provinces, including some hilly areas. Isolated parts of the Terai are also forecast to receive moderate rain with thunder and lightning. According to the MFD, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two locations in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
At night, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy. In some areas of Gandaki, including the hills and Terai, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is predicted, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
