KATHMANDU, July 15: The monsoon wind is currently affecting most parts of the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), the monsoon trough lies close to the average position in the western region and slightly north of the average position in the eastern region.
This afternoon, skies across the country are expected to remain generally cloudy. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of the country, including Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in a few other provinces across the country.
Heavy rainfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini
A few locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces may experience heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are also expected in some high-hilly and mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of the country, including Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with a few other areas. A few places in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces may witness heavy rainfall.
Light to moderate rain and snowfall are also expected in some high-hilly and mountainous areas. Additionally, thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely in parts of the Terai region of Koshi Province and Madhesh Province.
