Govt health institutions directed to destroy mosquito larvae every Friday

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the MoHP’s Administration Division instructed all government hospitals and health centers across the country to run the campaign every Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

KATHMANDU, July 25: The Ministry of Health and Population has directed all government health institutions and hospitals to search for and destroy mosquito breeding sites in and around their premises.



Issuing a notice on Thursday, the MoHP’s Administration Division instructed all government hospitals and health centers across the country to run the campaign every Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

The notice also stated that all ministry staff must be present during the designated time to clean their respective office premises.


The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) had earlier announced a nationwide mosquito larvae search-and-destroy campaign involving government offices, households, and communities. The campaign, aimed at curbing the spread of dengue, is to be conducted weekly from July through October.
