KATHMANDU, April 16: As a part of its efforts to address the demands of agitating school teachers, the government has decided to take the initiative to pass the bill aimed at amending and consolidating laws related to school education.
A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday night resolved to facilitate the endorsement of the Bill through both houses of the Federal Parliament.

The Bill is currently under consideration by the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives. The committee has formed a subcommittee to resolve the contentious issues within the Bill.
Meanwhile, teachers have been staging protests in Kathmandu for the past two weeks, demanding the passage of the Bill and the enactment of the law.
In response, the government has urged the protesting teachers to return to their duties, including enrollment processes, the Grade 12 examinations and answer sheet evaluations.
Additionally, the government has called for sessions of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. According to the Secretariat of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to recommend to President Ram Chandra Paudel that both houses of Parliament be convened at 1 PM on April 25.
