Govt bans production of plastic thinner than 40 microns from November 17

The government has decided to ban the production, sale, and distribution of plastic which is thinner than 40 microns. This decision will be set into motion starting from November 17.

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has decided to ban the production, sale, and distribution of plastic which is thinner than 40 microns. This decision will be set into motion starting from November 17.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel announced this measure to reduce environmental pollution while presenting the budget for the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/25.
