Four tarpaulins and 10 sacks of cement were also included in the consignment. “The supplies were transported from Simikot by vehicle and have already reached the area,” said Pandey.
The disaster has affected 18 households in Tilgaon. With the landslide advancing dangerously close to the village, the entire settlement is now at risk. Residents have been forced to seek temporary shelter in open fields across the river.
The glacial flood and landslide also caused significant damage to public infrastructure, including electricity lines, drinking water and irrigation systems, and bridges.
Dinesh Bhatta, Chief Executive Officer of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), said that along with the relief materials, a team of experts has been deployed to assess the situation. The team includes Senior Divisional Engineer Sushil Kumar Shrestha, geologist Shiva Prasad Bastola, and meteorologist Sauharda Joshi.
