During the Gen Z protests, demonstrators had named Shah as their first choice for prime minister. However, he distanced himself from the government formation process, showing no interest in the role.
In his message, Shah wrote, “Dear Gen Z, the nation has achieved change through your contribution and sacrifice. Heartfelt tribute to the brave martyrs. Your contribution is invaluable and will always guide future generations toward patriotism and responsibility.” He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured during the protests.
He didn't appear in the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
