Gen Z protest: Police open fire in Damak, one injured

Damak is the hometown of Prime Minister  KP Sharma Oli.

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Police opened fire during a Gen Z protest in Damak, Jhapa, leaving at least one person injured. Authorities said they were compelled to open fire to disperse the crowd after the demonstration turned violent. The injured individual is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The rally, which began from Damak Chowk, escalated after reaching the Damak Municipality office. Protesters attempted to torch an effigy of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and tried to vandalize the municipality gate. Damak is the hometown of Prime Minister  K P Sharma Oli.
