Gen-Z group demands arrest of KP Oli, Ramesh Lekhak, and Chhabi Rijal

In a press conference held at Sambad Dabali in the capital on Friday, the group accused them of misusing state power to suppress a movement and called for their immediate arrest.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19:  The Gen-Z group has demanded the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rijal.



In a press conference held at Sambad Dabali in the capital on Friday, the group accused them of misusing state power to suppress a movement and called for their immediate arrest.


Dr Nicholas Bhusal, advisor to Gen-Z, stated that the National Assembly should be dissolved and the constitution amended to allow for the direct election of an executive Prime Minister. He also demanded the formation of a high-level commission to investigate the wealth of all high-ranking leaders and government officials since 1990 AD.

Hari Adhikari, an injured participant in the Gen-Z movement, said their protest was against widespread misgovernance in society. He warned that the movement would continue if their demands were not fulfilled.


Nargis Thapa, a representative of the Gen-Z martyr family, said the government must act in a way that does not disrespect the bloodshed of their family members.


At the event, other speakers including Gen-Z advisors Kushlav KC, Khemraj Saud, Khojraj Katuwal, Nipesh Dhaka Adhikari, Dr Sundar Thapa and scientist Kapil Paudel, emphasized that only a directly elected executive system could lead the country toward development. They also stressed the need for free education and healthcare, as well as the creation of employment opportunities within the country.


Activist Kushlav KC stated that he has long been advocating in the streets for cooperative victims and asserted that the next government must address their demands.
